Hi everyone! 👏

My name is Matthew (or 'Matt', if you prefer - I like either name!). I am a native English speaker, born and raised in Manchester, in the north west of England.

After graduating from university I moved to Brighton, on the south coast, and I became a Cambridge CELTA-qualified English Language tutor in 2015, so I have 10 years of experience teaching my beautiful language! I taught English in Spain for two years (at the prestigious TECS Academy) then in Poland for a year and I have been teaching a wide variety of students from around the world online since 2020. Nowadays I live in Lytham St. Anne’s, a lovely little town by the sea!

I have a lot of life experience and my passions are history, geography, science, music, cinema and travelling (I have lived in Poland, Spain, New Zealand and Indonesia and visited many others) so I bring a wealth of cultural knowledge to my classes! I can help you with many useful English words and phrases about any subject! One of the best things about my job is talking to new people like you and exploring new ideas and concepts - I hope to learn from you too!! 👍

Over the past few years I have worked at several universities as a lecturer in Academic English - helping degree-level students improve their formal written work - and I have recently helped two PhD students with their doctoral papers, so I am happy to help you with your written work and exam preparation! (I have helped many students over the years achieve their IELTS, Cambridge Advanced and Cambridge Proficiency certificates).

I absolutely love my language - its history, its variety, its relationship with the rest of the world - and I’m sure you will see that passion in my classes! 😍

在过去的几年里，我曾在几所大学担任学术英文讲师，帮助学位级别的学生提升他们的正式写作能力。我最近还帮助了两位博士生完成他们的博士论文，因此我很乐意帮助你提升写作水平并准备考试！（这些年来，我帮助过许多学生获得 IELTS、剑桥高级和剑桥熟练证书）。
