Week 2: Summarising and Paraphrasing Scientific Texts

Learn how to organise and rephrase content, develop skills in information synthesis, and avoid plagiarism through correct paraphrasing and citation.


Week 3: Understanding Scientific Writing & Formality

Understand the tone and language of scientific writing, avoid informal or biased expressions, and enhance clarity and professionalism in academic communication.


Week 4: Academic Vocabulary for Science & Technical Writing

Focus on the precise use of scientific and academic language to help you correctly grasp and apply specialised terminology in your field.

Stage 2: Academic Writing

Week 5: Writing Lab Reports and Research Articles

Reading Break: Writing and Presentation Homework

Use these two weeks to organise the vast amount of information covered so far, while continuing to develop strong skills in efficient research through set assignments.


Week 7: Synthesising Research for Literature Reviews

Learn how to compare and integrate multiple studies, identify trends and research gaps, and write logical, well-structured literature reviews.


Week 8: Structuring and Writing Research Proposals

Focus on formulating clear research questions, mastering the structure of proposals, and learning how to explain the significance and value of your research.


Week 9: Peer Review & Editing for Clarity & Precision

Enhance the clarity and coherence of your writing through self-editing and peer feedback, optimising the structure and precision of your academic expression.

Stage 3: Presentation Skills

Enhance your oral communication and visual aid design skills, simulating real-life presentations in scientific conferences and classroom settings.


Week 10: Oral Presentation of Research & Science Communication

This week focuses on developing scientific presentation skills, learning how to use visual aids effectively to communicate research content clearly and logically.


Week 11: Oral Presentation Delivery & Feedback

Learn how to deliver your research confidently and coherently, and reflect and improve based on feedback from peers and instructors.


Week 12: Consolidation, Reflection & What's Next

  • Live online classes in a small-group format (1 teacher to 3 students).

  • The course is designed specifically for those planning to study in the UK. All materials are practical and closely aligned with real-life needs of international students in Britain.

  • From February to April and June to August every year, with one 2-hour session per week.

  • Once the course begins, refunds are not available. However, if you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to transfer your spot to a friend or someone in need.
